
The European Economic and Social Committee, in partnership with the Latvian Presidency of the Council of the European Union, invites amateur video-makers, choirs and singing groups to join the challenge and perform an interpretation of "Ode to Joy" accompanied by a video clip. Participants have to create a short video clip, between 30 seconds to 1 minute, dedicated to any European topic they wish.The videos and the lyrics can use any EU language but should have English subtitles.
Who can apply:
- EU citizens aged 18 or older, resident in the 28 countries of the European Union,
- Amateur video-makers, choirs and singing groups.
How to apply:
- Participant have to upload their video on an online video channel (Youtube, Dailymotion etc.) and then on the competition website.
- Submissions must include a text description, no more than 300 words in length, of the content highlighted in the video.
- The material submitted must be the individual creative work of the choir and the video team, with the exception of the copyright-free music of "Ode to Joy".
- The videos meeting the requirements will be published on the EESC's website where a public public vote for the top 10 will be done.
- The public vote will take place between 2nd and 16th March 2015 (ending at noon).
- Among these, a jury will select the three winners.
Prizes:
1st prize: 8,000 Euro
2nd prize: 5,000 Euro
3rd prize: 3,000 Euro
Winners will be awarded at a ceremony in Brussels on 27 May 2015.
