The RegioStars Awards, initiated by the European Commission, seeks to recognize exemplary regional development practices and showcase innovative projects that can inspire other regions.

REGIOSTARS are awarded to projects on these thematic categories:

1. A COMPETITIVE AND SMART EUROPE 
2. A GREEN EUROPE 
3. A CONNECTED EUROPE
4. A SOCIAL AND INCLUSIVE EUROPE 
5. A EUROPE CLOSER TO THE CITIZENS

Eligibility

• Projects funded by European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) (including Interreg), Cohesion Fund (CF), European Social Fund (ESF), Just Transition Fund, and any Interreg strand starting earliest on 1 January 2014.
• A maximum of five applications per programme can be submitted
• Only completed projects are considered.

Finalists will participate in a selection round during the EURegionsWeek in Brussels., in October. Winners will be revealed at the REGIOSTARS ceremony during the same event. As part of their prize, the winners will receive a mini-promotion campaign for their project.
